The artists daughter Natasha with 'Domna' the children nurse.  Domnuska was a serf who was given in servitude to Nadja Stember (artists wife) when she had her first child Ksenia.  Domna lived with the family until her death, even after given her freedom.

Stember painted Domna #127 and did a pencil drawing as well( #1. ) The oil painting can be seen in photo # 49  but it was later cut down to a smaller size.  The painting remains in the private collection of the family.
