Anna Pavlova is a 1909 portrait by the Russian artist Victor Stember.
Portrait of the famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. Stember was commissioned to paint the beautiful Pavlova in St. Petersburg. Stember chose to paint her as a Muse and it was said to be Pavlova's favorite painting of all that had been done of her. It was so much her favorite that she displayed it in her studio for inspiration when she practiced. See photo # 16 to see that it is life-size and displayed in a magnificent frame. Pavlova is shown practicing with the famous Maestro Cecchetti. This is in the book 'Anna Pavlova: by V. Dandre in 1932 and is also featured as the color frontispiece of the book.
The painting also appears in a newspaper article review about the book in the Sunday London times of December 18, 1932.
