Family Photograph 61

This is the cover to the catalogue of the Christie's Auction in London on 4 May 1995 of the Donald M. Munson Collection. On page 21 is a photo of the portrait by V. Shtember of 'The Temptation of St. Heleron'  (#126 on this site) signed in Cyrillic and dated 1894: oil on canvas, unframed 841/2 x 60 inches. (212 x 152.5 cm)  Estimate 5,000-7,000 pounds.

According to Blouin Art Sales Index Gallery, the painting sold for $11,326 on that day.  It was Lot 24.

The painting was later offered again (Lot 16) through Bonhams London during their Russian Sale on November 28, 2012. Minimum bid was $239,941 which was not met and therefore not sold. It's whereabouts today are unknown.
