1889:  Lubanovo near Moscow; family estate of Great Grandmother Apuhtina (the artists wife's family) A year after Victor and Nadja's wedding in Nice, France the couple was expecting their first child and returned to Russia and lived at Nadja's family home.  One of the rooms of the estate was arranged as a studio.You can see the portrait of the old woman who is their old servant, named Domna.  Her painting is number 127  on this site.  It was trimmed later to a smaller size. Next to it is a portrait of the artists wife, Nadja.  The large picture is 'The Blind Girl'.  According to the original picture album, the painting always 'used to be hanging in the children's room.'  Behind it on the left is 'Under the Birches' and also a few marine pictures. The paintings were too small to adequately display on the site and are only seen in this picture.
