The original black and white photograph taken by Stember of this painting has it titled 'In a Hot Summer Day' and was painted at Dubrachok outside of Moscow where the artist and his family had a summer home (their Dacha.) These woods were the setting for many of Stembers paintings.

This painting was listed for auction by Shapiro auctions (Gene Shapiro Auctions, LLC) on 9/12/2012 but was not sold for the estimated $10-15,000. It was titled 'Nude'.

The dimensions are 74.5 x 53.5cm (29 3/8 x 21 1/8 in) and signed in the lower right as Shtemberg (alternate to Stember).
